Halifax Health is seeking a Manager of Respiratory Therapy.
A Registered Respiratory Therapist that directs all functions of the EKG, EEG, Pulmonary Function and Respiratory Therapy departments.
Associate or Bachelor degree from an accredited school of Respiratory Care. NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Must possess skills in providing patient care for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Minimum of 5 years hospital respiratory care experience with at least 2 years supervisory and/or managerial experience.
Certificates and Licenses: Valid and Current Florida Respiratory Care license. BLS certification required.
Other advanced education/certification pertinent to area of responsibility.
Controls costs and operates within established budget.
Collect, prepares, and evaluates all statistical data for departmental monthly activity reports.
Maintains an adequate but minimal inventory of departmental supplies and ensures the integrity of their use and distribution.
Ensures an active performance improvement program is in effect.
Services are planned based on the patient’s assessed needs.
Interviews, selects and trains qualified new employees.
Observes performance and attitude of all employees. Keeps in mind performance requirements and role relationships.
Conducts departmental meetings.
Makes daily assignments based on patient acuity and staff abilities.
Manages department to efficiently and effectively accomplish departmental hospital goals and objectives
Acquires equipment and ensures maintenance to keep equipment in good working order.
Reviews new procedures and methods, tests and reviews new equipment.
Attends Department Manager meetings and participates in other committee assignments.
Collaborates with physicians and other support services, promoting efficiency, effectiveness and economy of operation and initiates action on problems.
